The Kawamara bathing ground belonging to the Kayin Union has been hosting the historic Hindu Baruni bathing fair here since time immemorial (about a thousand years ago). And various Hindu religious pujas (Durga puja, Manasa puja, Lakshi puja, and the Dashami Mela of Bishwakarma puja) were held at one time. Basanti puja has been worshiped here since the seventies. Krishna temple was also established here. There is also the oldest Kali temple here. There are also temples of Shani Dev and Loknath Baba. There is a crematorium here. The bodies of Hindu people have been cremated and buried here since ancient times.
